When should I schedule my sprinkler winterization in Troy?
Most homeowners book late September through early November, before sustained overnight temperatures reach 32°F or below. Shaded lots and low areas can freeze sooner, so earlier is safer.
How much is sprinkler winterization?
Standard residential winterization is $75 for up to 8 zones on municipal water. Pump systems are $125 for up to 10 zones and include draining and prime protection. Additional hose lines are $10 each. Larger systems or special setups are quoted in advance.
How long does the appointment take?
Typical Troy homes with 6–8 zones take approximately 20–30 minutes once connected. Larger properties, complex manifolds or pump-fed systems may take longer.
Do I need to be home?
No—as long as we can access your irrigation controller and connection or backflow device. Please unlock gates, keep pets inside and make sure the system is accessible.
Is compressed air safe for my irrigation system?
Yes. We use a regulated compressor and controlled bursts of air appropriate for residential irrigation components. Each zone is cleared before we move to the next.
Do you use antifreeze?
No. Lawn irrigation systems are winterized using regulated compressed air and proper draining, not antifreeze.
Can you winterize drip zones and the backflow preventer?
Yes. Drip and micro-irrigation zones can be winterized, and we drain and isolate the backflow preventer for winter.
Do you handle pump systems such as wells, ponds or rivers?
Yes. Pump systems are $125 for up to 10 zones and include pump draining and prime protection. We also winterize accessible intake and irrigation lines where applicable.
What if a zone doesn't turn on during winterization?
We'll attempt a quick diagnosis for common problems such as a stuck valve or solenoid, wiring issue or closed isolation valve. If additional repair time is needed, we'll identify the issue and recommend a repair or spring tune-up.
Should I unplug or remove my controller after winterization?
We normally set the controller to OFF or Winter mode. A plug-in transformer may be unplugged if desired. Hard-wired controllers can remain powered so stored programming isn't lost.
Do you offer spring start-ups and mid-season tune-ups?
Yes. We handle spring start-ups, coverage adjustments, nozzle replacement, sprinkler head adjustments, minor leak repairs and controller programming.
Will winterization guarantee no spring leaks?
Winterization removes water to help prevent freeze damage, but it isn't a complete irrigation-system inspection. Aging heads, valves or buried fittings can develop problems independently. We can repair issues found during spring start-up.
Do you test backflow preventers?
We repair backflow assemblies. For certified backflow testing, contact our team regarding testing availability or coordination in your area.
What should I do if the forecast suddenly drops below freezing?
Shut off the irrigation water supply, run one short manual cycle to relieve pressure and call us. We'll prioritize appointments based on freeze risk and available openings.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards. Invoicing is available for HOA and commercial customers upon request.
What is your cancellation or reschedule policy?
Please provide 24 hours' notice when possible. Severe weather, hard freezes or other conditions may require schedule adjustments. We'll notify affected customers by text or phone.
